This Dance Is Better Dance than Mj’s Thriller

maxresdefaultWhen thinking of a horror-themed dance sequence, I don’t think it’s unfair to say that Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” is the the best there is. On top of being one of the greatest music videos ever (you might even say the greatest) it also created a dance number that is still emulated all around the world. Who can resist a horde of zombies shuffling and thrusting to that memorable beat?

While Korean dance trio Necrophilia (that’s actually their name!) don’t have a song that’s as catchy MJ’s, they have created a zombie styled dance that is simply AWESOME! You can tell they’ve watched a load of zombie movies to try and capture the true essence of the motions and stylings of the various zombies we’ve seen throughout the years, from the slow shufflers in Dawn of the Dead to the quick and frantic 28 Days Later infected. And though they’re not zombies, I’m also seeing a hint of Silent Hill thrown in thanks to the nurses outfit.

When you watch the video, pay attention to the woman on the left at the beginning. You’ll see that her dress goes from pristine to rather messy in the span of a few moments. The woman on the right does it as well, although it doesn’t come off nearly as impressive. Still, it’s pretty badass that they added that small touch to the show.

A Sausage Party Near You!

We all grew up watching the toys from Toy Story come alive and now you can do the same with your food. From the writers of ‘Superbad’ and ‘Pineapple Express’ and the guys who brought you ‘This is the End’ and ‘Bad Neighbors’, they bring you ‘Sausage Party’.

The trailer begins by setting the scene with the local shoppers at the grocery store Shopwell, introducing us to the food’s enthusiasm to be ‘chosen’ by the humans and taken to utopia, only to find the truth about what really happens in the kitchen.

Certainly not to be confused with PG-rated ‘Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs’, this movie is for the adults and it features all the best sarcastic drug references you could ever want.

$1 Parking In Auckland Central City

Street parking in Auckland CBD is rarity in itself and it seems you’ll only find an available parking spot at odd hours like 2 am in the morning. It looks like that’s about to change for the lucky few who have discovered Heart of the City’s arrangement with the nice fellows at the Chancery Car Park (Secure Parking NZ) to offer parking at the reasonable rate of $1.

You will be able to arrange for a sweet parking spot on weeknights after 5.30 pm and weekends, but there is a catch. You’ll need to pre book & pay your parking spot online and use the coupon code ‘HOTCPARK‘ to ensure you get your parking at a discount rated. Which in all honesty, not that much of a catch.

You can find out more information about this awesome arrangement on the Heart of the City’s page here or book directly online with Secure Parking NZ here.

Water Mains Burst at Local DJ Event

What is worse than having your DJ’ing gig shut down by your local police? How about having the water mains burst on the crowd during your set, as a local Auckland DJ experienced this weekend.

Karl Divinagracia (better known for his DJ name, Deoxys) began his set at a bar in Auckland as a part of the Party Kings event. Only to have the 300 or so attendees and staff evacuated from the venue late at night.

“It was really good. Smashed a banger set” says the up and coming Auckland DJ. “Cops came and shut it down because s**t got way to hectic“.

There was no water damage sustained by any of the electric equipment and Deoxys continued playing despite the pool of water for as long as the party goers were willing to stick around.

If you would like to know more about Deoxys’ music, check out his Soundcloud here & Facebook page here to find out more info.
