Martin Garrix is returning to New Zealand for one show on March 18th next year. The bad news is, he isn’t the headliner. The dutch producer, who was last here last year for Future Sound System, will serve as the opening act for Justin Bieber’s Purpose World Tour, taking place at Auckland’s Mt Smart Stadium. Garrix will support Bieber for all of his Australasian shows next year.
Garrix has become one of EDM’s biggest young stars, with songs like, “Animals” and “In the Name of Love,” charting in countries all around the world. Going on the road with Bieber will no doubt give him even more exposure and thousands of new fans. As for whether he will collaborate with Bieber, Garrix has admitted that there is nothing in the works yet, telling Billboard,
“No update on any music with Justin though… we’re really good friends and we have a great time hanging out. Honestly we’ve been having so much fun hanging that we haven’t gotten too much time in the studio in just yet.”
